Manzanita is a gem, and we’re so excited to become part of this wonderful community and breathe new life into the Sunset Surf Motel.
As of October 10, 2025, Sunset Surf Motel is now part of the Escape Lodging family. To bring our vision to life, we are temporarily closed this winter for a full renovation of all guest rooms and common spaces, along with a rebrand that celebrates whimsy, warmth, and the magic of the Oregon Coast.
A refreshed stay is on the horizon, with reservations opening soon and a warm return to the coast.
When we reopen this summer, it will be as the Manzanita Oceanfront Inn—featuring refreshed accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and an elevated guest experience that feels both new and nostalgically familiar. Reservations for arrivals this summer and beyond will open in mid-March, 2026, and a booking engine will be added to this website as soon as it becomes available.

We know this property holds a special place in the hearts of so many, and we are deeply committed to honoring that legacy. The Manzanita Oceanfront Inn will remain a lodging-only property with no onsite restaurant—staying true to its roots. We’re also working closely with the City of Manzanita and the neighborhood to ensure our exterior plans respect the character and spirit of this beloved location.
No need to leave your best friend behind—Manzanita adventures are better together! We offer designated pet-friendly rooms with easy beach access, so you and your pup can go from room to sand in no time.
Bring your furry sidekick along for the fun—up to two pets per room are welcome. A $25 nightly fee per pet applies. Please contact the front desk to ensure your reservation is in a pet-friendly room.

Yes! We welcome pets in select rooms. Per our hotel policies, a $25 pet fee applies, per pet per night, with a two-pet maximum. If you are traveling with your pet, please let us know in advance of your arrival so we can ensure you’re in a pet-friendly room.
Our check-in time is 4:00 PM. If you’re in the area earlier than check-in, please feel welcome to stop by and we’ll happily reach out as soon as your room is available for you. Check-out time is 11:00 AM
