We know the pool carries decades of cherished memories. After many wonderful years, it has taken its final bow, while it will be missed, we’re excited about what’s coming in its place. Picture cozy firepits, inviting outdoor seating areas, and a hot tub planned for installation this fall ~ a new way to gather, unwind, and take in the beauty of the coast. 

We’re working closely with the City of Manzanita and the neighborhood to ensure our exterior change reflects the character and spirit of this beloved location.

A Brief History of Manzanita, Oregon

Long before it became a beloved beach town, the stretch of coastline now known as Manzanita was home to Native peoples who lived in harmony with the Pacific Ocean, nearby forests, and abundant natural resources. Their connection to this landscape helped shape the region for generations.

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, settlers were drawn to the area’s rugged beauty and quiet shoreline. As roads improved and visitors discovered the Oregon Coast, Manzanita slowly grew from a small seaside community into a cherished destination for those seeking a slower pace and a closer connection to nature.

Despite its growth, Manzanita has remained true to its roots. With just a few welcoming blocks of locally owned shops, restaurants, and galleries, the town has carefully preserved its relaxed character. Seven miles of sandy beach, sweeping views of Neahkahnie Mountain, and unforgettable sunsets continue to be the main attractions.

Today, Manzanita offers the perfect balance of coastal adventure and peaceful retreat. Whether you’re exploring nearby hiking trails, strolling Laneda Avenue, or simply listening to the waves from your oceanfront room, you’ll discover the same timeless charm that has drawn visitors here for more than a century.
